Ear Acupuncture

Ear

Ear acupuncture can be used for additional assistance in the treatment of pain associated with a disease. Placing acupuncture needles in the ear affects specific organs such as the liver and kidneys. These organs then release chemicals or allow continuous Chi flow in the meridians.  Once the ear needles are removed, sunflower seeds can be taped onto the ears to allow on-going stimulation to the points. These seeds can be worn for a few days at a time.


This skill will allow the player an additional +/-1 leeway when using the cure disease acupuncture skill.

Healing

Location of wound

Treatment for pain received after any wounding injury. It will restore 3LP and 3BP to victim.

Back of the Neck

By letting blood in and then stopping the blood from leaving the head the victim dies painfully, bleeding from the ears, nose mouth and eyes. Takes 3mins for victim to die. If the needle is removed the victim is disorientated for 30 seconds but is otherwise alright.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is also used in conjunction with acupuncture.  The science of acupuncture and Moxibustion is an important component of Eastern medicine used in prevention and treatment of disease. Moxibustion treats and prevents disease by applying heat to acupunctures points or certain locations of the human body.

Moxibustion is used in the form of a stick or cone of wool.  Often if a disease cannot be treated by acupuncture, it is then treated by Moxibustion.

This skill will allow the player an additional +1/-1 leeway when used with cure disease acupuncture skill. (Accumulative with cupping).

Removes the feeling of pain to a given limb for 1 enc/15 mins. Limb may drop to -9 before it stops working. Limb is still lost at -10

Player can  stick a victim which will cause incapacitating pain to that location for 30 seconds, (regardless if pin is removed).

Player is able to insert pins to remove the pain and alleviate the ailments associated with arthritis, headache, PMS, and back pain.


This skill will:

- Reduce healing times from breaks by 1d6 days. (See APPENDIX 11 for Break Bone rules)

- Alleviate the worst pains of Labour and the following birth  injuries in the following way:

Exhaustion - 15% chance, and only lasts for 1d12 hours

Delayed Labour - exhaustion check at 40% chance.

Pulse diagnosis is also used to diagnose a disease.  There are over twelve different pulse positions on each wrist and twenty-eight pulse qualities that can be related to each one of these positions. The different pulses can confirm a diagnosis and be used to monitor a patient's progress.

This skill acts like an antidote (taken after poisoning). The chi expended corresponds to the equivalent antidote


level.1= No effect (Alleviates symptoms but not effects)

2=  Toxin effect

3= Nullify Toxin and +1PR

4= Nullify Toxin and restore all PR

It takes 5 mins to fully purge a poison.
