FENG PO – Count of the Wind, Owner of the Sky
Status: 1st Generation Elder God
Level: 90000
Avatar: Barint
Feng Po (aka Marnarka) is the sky God of the Orientals. He is the father of the gods and is especially popular among the learned and studious. He commands all the sky and those creatures in it. It is said that nothing below, unless undercover, can be hidden from him.
Unlike Marnarka and western beliefs Feng Po is portrayed as a tall imposing man, who is very thin and has a long pencil moustache which drapes to his feet. His pale white hair is comparable to the snowy white clouds.
He is concerned with fairness, rather than the letter of the law and opposes tyranny and oppression as much as crime. Being the father of all the Gods he is closer to Ome-te Llest, the creator of all, than any other spirit and it is he that sees to Ome-te Llest’s wishes. Feng Po has ruled the gods through an age filled with twists and turns for both good and evil. Most of the events that have occurred within Bifrost Feng Po has had some form of involvement, and of course where needed Feng-Po has ruled with the fairness of the law. Even banishing his own wife Tsien Amerasu (Tanarsa) after discovering her infidelity. One only has to study the scriptures to see how much Feng-Po is involved with the government of not only Bifrost but Eä and Ae also.
He has also been personally involved in the investiture of some of the younger gods such as Eshu and it is through him that any mortal wishing to become a god should plead their cause.
How Feng Po became master of the Eastern Lands is a strange tale. After the western lands were made by Ome-te Llest, but before the creation of the Elves, the rest of Eä’s seas were an ocean of chaos. Out of this seething chaos grew a single reed, Feng Po (known at that time as Marnarka). He looked upon the seas and as requested by Ome-te Llest he commanded Poseidon and Daunam to each summon a great Leviathan. They did so and summoned Izanangi and Izanami respectively. He then bade them leave him. Feng Po commanded Izanangi and Izanami to stir the waters that lie between Eä and Bifrost (the root of the Yggdrasil). Then with a lance that he had been given by Ome-te Llest, Feng Po dipped the lance into the despoiled waters and collecting a drop let it fall into Eä’s chaotic seas below. This split into many and where they fell small islands were formed.
His work done Feng Po returned to Bifrost to await the coming of men who would fill those islands many years in the future.
Despite his wife’s infidelity Feng Po and Tsien Amerasu the Star Queen share a love that knows no limits. Their bond lends each of them additional powers so that together they are stronger than the sum of there separate talents, a fact that has saved them both several times from their plotting underlings.
