LU TONG – She Who Knows Who Will Prosper
Status: 1st Generation Elder God
Level: 8000
Avatar: Aarint
Lu Tong is actually three Goddesses who are one. She? Decides the individual fates of mortal man. Lu Tong (Oriental: - ‘The Three’) has three names and three distinctive personalities. The first is Clotho (The Spinner) the second is Lachesis (The Lot Drawer) and the last is Atropos (the Inevitable).
Lu Tong is a strange outerworld deity rumoured to be sister to Anubis who was greeted by Ome-te Llest when Eä was shaped. She is the confused personality of three birth spirits whose original purpose was to look after the first of Ome-te Llest’s children (the Gods). The three birth spirits were responsible for laying down the Lot of each individual at birth.
There is a lot of conjecture as to how the sisters become as one. Some say it was the powers of belief of mortal man believing they were one that melded them together, others say Ome-te Llest failed in his creating, and others still believe that Pharastus corrupted them before they could enter the world in an attempt to destroy the hopes of mortals.
Whatever Lu Tong’s history she has a wide roll to play in the eastern lands and her powers are no way clear nor have they been adequately quantified by the priesthood. The big question in eastern religious debate is ‘Is Feng Po greater than Lu Tong or subject to her?’ or ‘Can Feng Po, by persuasion alter whatever Lu Tong decrees?’
Indeed there has been a few times where Feng Po has been stronger but the argument is:
‘Is just Feng Po acting out the fate decreed to him by Lu Tong at his birth?’
Lu Tong is envisaged as three old women spinning out men’s destinies like a thread. She (they?) dresses in a white, blood stained cloak and has long pointed claws on her elderly hands. In her three aspects and at the same time she/they act thus, Clotho drawing the yarn out, Lachesis cutting them to length and Atropos cutting them off.
Lu Tong in the form of Atropos has very good relations with Mirkos, to whom she passes the spirits of the dead in person.
